I served in the USAF(4yrs) as an Air Policeman and K9 handler stationed in Germany at Hahn AFB for 3 years. I did a lot of Temporary duty in other parts of the world. Also in my duty status I had a top secret clearance. All of our duties required the Top Secret clearance.
After the Air Force I attended Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing for my RN on the GI bill, there were 5 of us in the US that were prior service going thru a school of nursing. I was the first male in my program.
After graduating and passing the State RN licensure exam I worked as a ER, ICU, OR and Dialysis nurse.
I then decided to apply to the Connecticut State police to be a Trooper, the year I applied there were 10000 applications and they too 16.
After graduation I was assigned to a country Troop and that started my quest to assist and help other troopers and their families in the negative effects of the job..
Eventually I was assigned to the State Police Academy as an instructor in emergency medical care, as I worked at the academy I dealt with more and more Troopers with issues and their family members.. During my duties as the Senior instructor at the Acadmy I decided to return to college it get my Graduate degree in Counseling. This took me three years and their family members I was able to do counseling with Department personnel and their families. Also will I was at the Academy I also was on the SWAT(Tactical Team) for 18 years as the advanced Medic.,
When I retired after 22 yrs I then worked as a visiting nurse and a vascular surgical office as manager.
I have been a Licensed RN for 56 years.
I have belonged to several police support groups: Badge of Life, Blue Help and most recently Protecting the Guardian. This is a very abbreviated resume.
